Mt.Deo Tibba is Second highest peak of the Pir Panjal range in the Kullu valley. Mount Deo Tibba is a technical peak well known among the mountaineers all around the world. The Hindu religion believes that Deo Tibba is the assembly site of the gods. , and the Devtas are believed to sit on this peak, while the Lord of War & Weather-Indra, carries out a meeting from his throne-Indrasan. Lord Indra is the controller of weather & also the Lord of the Devtas.
Day 1: Reporting at Manali
On reaching Manali in the morning, transfer to hotel and check in. We will meet after lunch with our team and go through your gear. Evening time is free for shopping and visiting the local markets. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 2: Manali Chikka, (12 km drive & 8 km trek)
Drive up to Khanol from Manali where the trek starts. Trek along the Nala, cross it and ascend gradually through the forest for 2-3 hours, after which it gives way to the pastures of Chhika. The campsite is just next to the local temple and next to Jagatsukh Nala.
Day 3: Chikka – Seri
The trek from Chikka goes on the right bank of Jagatsukh Nala for 4-5 hours until we reaches to a large green flat ground almost around 4 to 5 big football ground sized. We camp at the flatlands for the night and witness a blanket of stars open up above us.
Day 4: Seri - Chota Chandratal (Base Camp)
We will start the day’s trek for Chota- Chandertal which will take around 3-4 hours from Seri campsite. Walk along the Nala and cross it again. Start climbing up the rock field. An hour of walking up along a ridge brings us to Tenta at the base of the glacier. Climb the steep slopes for another two hours to reach Chota Chandratal. Overnight stay at Chota Chandratal.
Day 5: Acclimatization at Chota Chandratal (Base Camp)
Acclimatisation day at Chota Chandertal. Spend some time for acclimatisation walk and practicing climbing techniques on snow and ice.
Day 6: Load ferry to Camp 1 from Chota Chandratal (Base Camp)
From now on, the expedition will be run in a semi-alpine manner. Our cook and helper will remain at the base camp. The rest of the team will proceed up to the mountain. All expedition members will be required to carry some of the common food, gear, etc. and assist with the camp activities. Climb up the gully to Dhuangan col. Leave loads at a suitable campsite and return to base camp for the night.
Day 7: Chota Chandratal – Camp 1
The entire team moves to Camp 1. Once we reach Camp 1, the rest of the day can be used for further height gaining and acclimatization. Overnight at Camp 1.
Day 8: Load ferry to Summit Camp from Camp 1
Today again we will do the load ferry to summit camp.
Day 9: Camp 1 - Summit Camp
We will leave very early in the morning with the hope to set up the camp before lunch because we have to walk over the steep terrain. We’ll have dinner early in the evening and head straight to bed for some rest before the next day’s summit attempt.
Day 10: Summit Day
We’ll leave camp in the middle of the night in order to take advantage of the hard snow. The route to summit is moderately angled mixed snow and ice. If all goes well, we’ll arrive at the summit early in the morning. After a good photo session, we’ll head back down to Camp 2. If the weather is bad we will follow the same itinerary next day.
Day 11: Reserved day for Summit
Day 12: Descend to Chota Chandratal from Summit Camp
All the members will descend to Deo Tibba base via Dhuangan Col. Overnight stay at Deo Tibba base camp.
Day 13: Chota Chandratal – Manali
We will follow the same route. It’ll be a long walk back down!
