Friendship Peak Is A Non Technical Peak And Majestic Mountain, Situated At Pir Panjal Range, In Kullu District Of Himachal Pradesh. This Mountain, Covered With Snow, Is At An Altitude Of 5,289 M Above The Sea Level. The Best Route To Access This Peak Is Through Dhundi And Beas Kund. The Ideal Time To Climb This Peak Is From May To June And September To October. Bhunter Airport And Bus From Delhi To Manali Is The Best Way To Reach Manali. Friendship Peak In The Beas Kund Area Is An Ideal Non-Technical Trekking Peak For Those With Limited Or No Mountaineering Knowledge.
Day 1: Manali - Solang Nala - Bakerthach (3500mts) 2Hrs Drive, Trek 3/4 Hrs
After Breakfast, Drive Manali To Dhundhi Via Sharing Car Which Will Take Around 2 Hrs. You Will Trek Through Lush Of Green Valley And Forest After Reaching Dhundhi. We Start Our Walk, Which Is Through The Palchani Thatch. First Day Is Little Bit Short Because Of Lots Of Things They Have To Pack On Horse. It Will Take Around 3 Hrs From Starting Point. Rest Of The Day Is Spent In Exploring Surrounding. Around The Campsite You Can See Lots Of Big Snow Capped Mountain. Dinner And Overnight Stay In Camp.
Day 2: Bakerthach - Advance Base Camp (Lady Leg) 3800m Via Beas Kund (3690m) 5/6 Hrs
After Breakfast, We Will Start Our Trek. We Will Pass Through Beas Kund, The Origin Of Holy River Beas. Beas Kund, A Holy River Of Himachal Pradesh. Beas Kund Is A Known Stopover Point For Many Other Trekking Trails Like Mt. Shitidhar, Mt. Ladakhi, Mt. Manali. No Sleep Is Prescribed Here Because We Have Already Gained Enough Height. Overnight Stay At Advance Base Camp.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day/ Rest Day/Equipment Reorganization
After Gaining Height You Have To Be Proper Acclimatized. So Today, We Will Do Rest. In The Noon, Expedition Leader Will Told About Equipment And Their Usage.
Day 4: Advance Base Camp – Camp 1(4,000 M) 2/3 Hrs
After Breakfast We Will Be On The Way To Our Next Camp Site With Limited Equipments. As We Have To Spend Only One Night i.e..At Camp 1 We Don’t Need Whole Equipments Which We Are Caring. Summit Camp May Be Set Up Higher In Case Snow Is Less. The Idea Is Basically To Cut The Time From Summit Attempt. After Lunch, Time For Training Sessions Like How To Arrest Properly Slope Falls, Climbing Boots, Ropes, Harness. Early Dinner And Early Sleep.
Day 5: Summit Attempt (5289 M) And Back To Base Camp ( 5-6 Hrs Climb And 4/5 Hrs Back To Base Camp)
Gear Up Early In The Morning As We Are Going To Achieve The Maximum Altitude. We Will Start At Around 2 Am In The Morning. It Will Be A Steep Trek And You Will Pass Through Glaciers, Snow Peak And Cross Various Crevasses. If Everything Goes As Planned, You Will Be Able To Reach The Summit By 8 In The Morning. From The Top Of The Mountain You Will Be Able To See The Uninterrupted View Of Neighboring Mountains, Towns Like Lahaul & Spiti And Manali. Celebrate Your Moment And Click Picture But Be Careful Since The Platform At The Summit Is Not Too Wide. Descending Early Is Important Because The Way Back Is Also Long. Once The Snow Gets Slushy, Descent Would Become Difficult. The Way Down Would Take Only 4/5 Hours.
Day 6: Reserve Day
Reserve Day In Case Of Bad Weather / Other Unexpected Conditions.
Day 7: Base Camp - Dhundi To Manali
In The Morning, After Breakfast Descending Down To Dhundhi. From Dhundhi Car Will Take Us Back To Manali.
If you are beginner kindly offload your backpack, because trekking with heavy backpack in mountains is not an easy task especially when you are carrying around 8-10 kg uphill.
If you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to Mule/porter.
Charges of offloading backpack 450 per Day. Inform us in advance so
that we can arrange.
The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kg. Backpack should have waterproof cover.
Bhuntar, which is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air.Kindly check online for other informations.
Manali is well connected to Delhi. Take an overnight bus from Delhi and you will
reach Manali in 12 - 14 hours. Tickets can be booked online at www.redbus.in or
Like the onward journey, buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 6 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 and 10 am. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delays.
Trekking shoes: There will be several slippery patches on the trail, and you will need trekking shoes with good grip. Sports shoes will not be comfortable enough.
Backpack (50-60 liter): A backpack with sturdy straps and a supporting frame. Rain cover for backpack is essential.
Two warm layers: At the campsites, especially the higher ones, the temperature after sundown will drop to around 2-6 degrees. You will need at least three warm layers (two lights layers such as fleece and woolen and one padded jacket) for this trek.
Two trek pants: One pair of pants should suffice for this trek. But you can carry one spare pair in case the first one gets wet. Wear one pair and carry one pair.
Two collared t-shirts: Carry light, full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Again, wear one and carry one.
Thermals (Optional): Those who are more susceptible to cold can carry thermals to wear at night.
