Specialty: 360 view of Garhwal Himalaya’s peaks
Kedarkanta trek provides a great opportunity for trekkers to see the scenic beauty and experience the life of remote villages of Garhwal Himalayas. Kedarkantha Trek lies in the Govind Wild life Sanctuary and National Park, which is a treasure house of flora and fauna such as leopards, bears, musk deer and many birds.
Day 1: 1: Dehradun to Sankri (6,500 ft) drive – 200 Km – 9/10 hrs
Our vehicle will pick you from railway station in the morning. The drive is beautiful from Haridwar to Sankri via Mussourrie, alongside the Yamuna and Tons rivers. The drive also passes by beautiful pine forests. It will take almost 9-10 hrs.
Day 2: Sankri to Juda ka talab (9,000 ft) 6 km trek -5 hrs
After morning exercise, we will have our breakfast and start the trek for our next camp Juda Ka Talab. We will walk to Saur village and then climb up till we reach a small pond, Juda-ka- Talab, which is frozen during winters. We will camp beside the small pond surrounded by Pine and Oak trees.
Day 3: Juda ka talab to Kedarkantha base (11,200 ft), 3km Trek 3 Hrs
Kedar Kantha base becomes our destination for the day. The trek route is beautiful with open views on all side and vast snow fields decorated with green patches. However, our destination is even more impressive. Imagine a vast open, snow fields, the size of two football fields, a stream running by and misty mountains forming the background – this is the KedarKantha base where we will camp overnight in tents. We told you it was impressive!.
Day 4: KK base to Kedarkantha Peak and back to Hargaon (6,400 ft), 7km 7-8 Hrs
The day begins early with a filling breakfast and enjoying the sunrise from the Kedarkantha meadows which is a simply amazing, pure and divine. The way to the top can be made through several trails but it is better to take the main trail as its keep rising at an even level. On this route, the trekkers need to again cover a few portions of oak forest but the journey through this trail is much easier and faster. Climbing through the forest till its end, one can find the Kedarkantha peak much closer. At the top of the peak there is a beautiful yet small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. There is a small shrine of Lord Ganesh too. The arresting 360 view of the snow clad peaks of Uttarakhand is intoxicating and beyond words to be penned down.
Day 5: Har Gaon to Sankri , 5 km -4hrs
Trek down through thick forest of Pine and Maple trees and at some places you will have open views of beautiful Har Ki Dun valley.
Day 6: Sankri to Dehradun
Drive back to Dehradun to catch your train to Delhi sweet memories of the Kedarkantha Trek.
If you are beginner kindly offload your backpack, because trekking with heavy backpack in mountains is not an easy task especially when you are carrying around 8-10 kg uphill.
If you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to Mule/porter.
Charges of offloading backpack 300per Day. Inform us in advance so
that we can arrange.
The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kg. Backpack should have waterproof cover.
Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 48 km from the Haridwar. There is a daily flight from Delhi for Dehradun.

Trekking shoes: There will be several slippery patches on the trail, and you will need trekking shoes with good grip. Sports shoes will not be comfortable enough.
Backpack (40-60 liter): A backpack with sturdy straps and a supporting frame. Rain cover for backpack is essential.
Two warm layers: At the campsites, especially the higher ones, the temperature after sundown will drop to around 2-6 degrees. You will need at least three warm layers (two lights layers such as fleece and woolen and one padded jacket) for this trek.
Two trek pants: One pair of pants should suffice for this trek. But you can carry one spare pair in case the first one gets wet. Wear one pair and carry one pair.
Two collared t-shirts: Carry light, full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Again, wear one and carry one.
Thermals (Optional): Those who are more susceptible to cold can carry thermals to wear at night.
